Alicia Rota is an experienced creative with over a decade of experience in producing and curating artistic projects including art fairs, dance and theatre. Rota holds a BFA in Commercial Dance with a minor in Arts & Entertainment Management from Pace University (2016). She later studied acting at Studio 4 and the Brooklyn Actors Lab, where she began her career producing film, television, and media projects. During this time, she produced 25+ independent projects (Darla – (2017), Green Piece (2015-2016), Detour + Next Exit (2022). Rota also collaborated with clients such as Philippa Braithwaite for Beaujolais Wine, Patron, InStyle Magazine, and more. In 2020, she joined Superfine Art Fair as Director of Operations, bringing her production experience to the art world. During her tenure with Superfine, Alicia Rota spearheaded the curation, design, and production for 17 art fairs, presented nationwide in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco, Washington D.C., among others. Envisioning and implementing the curation for these, Alicia also worked directly with over 600 independent artists, assisting with curating fair booths and providing valuable insight into the art world. While with Superfine, Rota worked with arts organizations like ChaShaMa, ArtSpan, and Path With Art allowing her to develop her curatorial eye further and hone her ability to translate creative ideas into reality. In true Capricorn nature, Alicia is drawn to projects with a balance of practicality and whimsy; with deep, rich spirits that also bring out a child-like sense of play and wonder. Movement plays a large part in Rota’s practice; a guiding force in her projects, she is fascinated with finding, observing, and creating movement in her curations and creative design development.
