About

I am a managing member of Heroic Development, operating as a freelance technical co-founder, UX designer, and developer. Heroic Development is a team that designs, builds, launches, and markets your SaaS. We've helped founding teams get their web/mobile projects off the ground and into the market. My philosophy is to serve and lead by example, and to empower people to perform their best. I enjoy improving my craft, focusing on practical architecture, user experience, and test-driven development. I enjoy learning new things and researching new frameworks and solutions. I am interested in startups and entrepreneurial endeavors. My interests are in iOS, tvOS, and macOS app design and development, as well as development for the web and cloud. I am also interested in user experience design and visual design. Professionally, I've performed several different roles, including software engineering, web design & development, program management, and data analysis. Personally, I've played in several bands on guitar and synthesizers, and done studio production of recordings. I've written electronic music tracks, and enjoy programming drums and writing string arrangements, with Reason. I also enjoy basketball and golf, and have recently been getting into real estate investing.   • Oversee development, management and maintenance of technologies for this side-project, a gig economy marketplace website written in React, running on AWS. • Manage engineering team in build out of front-end and back-end systems. • Ensure that the front-end experience is well-architected with attention to modern user experience practices and responsive design, using React as the main front-end framework. • Coordinate and build dozens of back-end services to be scalable, reliable and secure, using AWS Amplify, GraphQL and the Serverless Framework. • Perform primary project management role to plan, estimate and coordinate duties among staff, using an array of planning tools including LucidChart, InVision and JIRA.

  • Lead developer for a team working on several app projects for Smart TV devices, written in JavaScript, TypeScript and utilizing frameworks such as Vue.js, along with a CircleCI build system. • Prototyping React Native apps for iOS/Android. • Completed an award-winning React Native app called Mood Mirror backed by Azure artificial intelligence APIs. Collaborated closely with design and created the entire front-end app experience. Won the Frēsh 18 Gold Award for Information & UI and Frēsh 18 Gold Award for Product & Industrial. • Sole developer in prototyping a React Native app for a major financial services firm. • Prototyping services in GraphQL running on AWS. • Consulted and implemented features on iOS for our Signal OTT video platform, as well as several other iOS and AppleTV projects for our clients.
