With a robust foundation in mathematics and education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Master's in Mathematics Education from DePaul University, I have carved a niche in data and machine learning engineering. Currently serving as a Data & ML Platform Engineer III at Avant, I spearhead model building environments, deployment, and monitoring, while implementing advanced ETL frameworks and model monitoring pipelines. My tenure at Avant has seen me lead significant projects, including a $10k daily cost-saving migration to an internal lakehouse and the deployment of a sophisticated TensorFlow and XGBoost scoring pipeline. Previously, I honed my skills as a Data Scientist and Teaching Assistant at Metis, where I developed innovative projects like a computer vision-based web app and a coffee recommendation engine. • Data & ML Platform Engineer III · Avant04-01-2023

  Own Avant's model building environments, deployment, serving, monitoring, and dataset management. Implemented ETL framework on Airflow 2.0 with ingestion to Databricks and Cosmos dbt DAGs for managing transformations. Designed and launched model monitoring pipelines for all live ML models to feed Datadog alerting with additional executive business facing Looker dashboards. Deployed an ensemble TensorFlow and XGBoost batch scoring pipeline for a customer behavior score with weekly drift detection for a population of over 1.5 million consumers. Implemented mlflow for experiment tracking and model registry, including integrations with legacy frameworks and native processes in Databricks. Launched an intervention workflow for ML model explanation for declined customers to support compliance and customer experience requests.

• Senior Analytics Engineer · Avant07-01-2022 – 05-01-2023

  Led analytics engineering in end-to-end migration from legacy warehouse owned by sister company to an internal lakehouse, saving $10k daily as of the end of Q1 2023. Designed the data model for the internal lakehouse, established new pipelines, and executed a comprehensive data audit, ensuring seamless data continuity and increased data quality. Improved monthly customer account review pipeline by updating SQL queries leading to a decrease in matching errors with TransUnion of over 90% resulting in a similar reduction in corrective actions. Created business wide training materials for Python workflow management platform, Looker, SQL, and Alation and hosted learning sessions for 200 colleagues on each topic, receiving positive feedback from attendees and leadership. Training materials have been added to new hire onboarding. Designed PySpark ETL to run with Airflow for customers for new Point of Sale product onboarding. Directly managed one report and two business intelligence fellows.
