About

I am an undergraduate student at Barnard College studying the intersection of Economics and Human Rights, passionate about #Sustainability, #Entrepreneurship, #CorporateSocialResponsibility, and #DiversityEquityandInclusion. Having grown up in Tokyo, Japan, I have a global perspective and a unique set of experiences in a foreign market. This past summer, as a Bridgewater Scholar, I had the wonderful opportunity to research the mining industry in Zambia as a research assistant asking questions about the volatility of the market as well as discussing sustainable policy improvements. I am eager to continue doing research throughout my Junior year at Barnard College. I am excited to apply the skills acquired during this research project to a hands-on internship experience next summer, and continue to break boundaries within the finance industry as a woman of color. Experience

• Pathways Scholar · Bridgewater Associates2022-04-01 –

  As a Bridgewater Scholar, I have received the opportunity to participate, for at least one summer following my sophomore year, in a fully-funded 10-week program of paid summer research with a faculty member in a project that uses statistical, computational, and econometric tools of data analysis. In the summer of my junior year, I will receive guaranteed funding for 10 weeks of paid internship experience, at Bridgewater or elsewhere in the industry. Along with these benefits, I will be fortunate enough to have empowered female Bridgewater mentors to advise both my research and applied industry engagement projects, as well as Barnard mentors, focused on career and industry advising. I will benefit from networking and industry-focused talks and workshops provided by Bridgewater, and the guidance and support of other students in their scholar's cohort throughout my time at Barnard.

  - Worked together with two other co-workers every Sunday for 8-hour shifts to serve customers coffee and pastries at a widely known, immigrant-run Pastry Shop and Cafe - Served over 200+ students, professors, businessmen, and other community members in the Morningside Heights and Harlem Community in a fast-paced environment taking to-go orders as well as waitressing and cleaning - Fostered a relaxing, positive cafe environment friendly for studying, conversations, and dining through memorizing regulars’ orders and personalized conversations with customers to maximize customer satisfaction
