My name is Parker Harrell. I am from Baton Rouge, Louisiana! Geaux Tigers!<br>I am a 3L at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law interested in Intellectual Property, Sports, Business, and Corporate Law. I am currently pursuing a certificate in (1) Taxation and (2) Business, Technology, and Entrepreneurship. This year I am taking Intellectual Property Law which dives into the doctrines of Copyright, Trade Secret, Patents, and Trademark. Last year, I took Contracts and Legal Research and Writing. Next semester I am taking Arbitration and Mediation, State and Local Taxation, and Business Organizations to just name a few. <br><br>I am very interested in Sports and Entertainment Law, Labor Law, Intellectual Property and Corporate Law. I had a chance to explore some of these legal areas during my internship at Cromwell & Associates. While there, I conducted legal research and prepared memoranda, independently drafted legal correspondence on various agreements, materials, and contracts; verbally conveyed my recommendations in a professional manner to associate attorneys at the firm creating a collaborative, team-like environment; built and cultivated strong relationships within the firm through interpersonal and communicative skills. <br><br>I serve as the President of Loyola's Sports and Entertainment Law Society where I act as the liaison between our members and the administration. As President, my duties include creating an environment where our members learn, grow, and develop within the Sports and Entertainment industries. Last year, I served as Treasurer of Loyolas Inaugural Technology and Business Law Society where I audited membership dues, receipts, and club transactions. I am a former NCAA Division I student-athlete and work with the greater New Orleans area as a Louisiana High School Athletic Association Official volleyball referee. I am also an active volunteer in my community through Loyola's Race Judicata 5k which raises awareness for Disability Rights Louisiana. Through experiences like these, I have developed self-motivation, patience, independence, resiliency, coachability, adaptability, and determination. I also think well under pressure and consider myself attentive, detail-oriented, and organized.
