I am a software engineer who has had a large focus on Data Engineering. Aside from building batched and streaming data pipelines, I have also completed assignments and projects involving data analysis, data warehousing, backend development, and development operations. My career experience includes joining a SaaS startup as their fiftieth employee and helping them grow from two recurring customers to over one hundred during my time with them.

  ● Completed data pipeline projects involving various Python libraries including Pandas. ● Created a configurable ETL library to help transform customer data ingested from flat files. ● Built out a mock web based game using Python's FastAPI and Websockets libraries which included features that allowed players to connect to the game world, start and join games, and compete against each other.

• Senior Software Engineer · Mark4306-01-2016 – 04-01-2023

  ● Designed, developed, and operated a law enforcement data migration framework using AWS, Java and SQL, which increased customer onboarding speed and enabled police departments to preserve and access their legacy public safety data via Mark43’s report management system. ● Designed and implemented law enforcement data warehouses with AWS technologies, Python, and SQL, which allowed police departments to continue to use existing reporting and analytics workflows after adopting Mark43’s products. ● Created and enhanced business intelligence dashboards using SQL and Looker, enabling customers to generate reports and insights in as few as several seconds. ● Led the planning and implementation of an event-driven architecture using Kafka and Kubernetes to build a data pipeline which provided near-real time data access for ten customers.

  ● Led a team of software engineers to successfully design and implement a cardholder segmentation process using PHP and PostgreSql, which improved efficiency by reducing the time needed to identify marketing targets by over 75%. ● Developed and enhanced an analytical data warehouse based on consumer credit card transactions in PostgreSql, increasing the efficiency of other teams by providing improved data and eliminating redundant queries. ● Enhanced a merchant identification process using PHP and SQL, increasing human operator efficiency by 100%. ● Added new functionality to the internal analytics framework using PHP, which increased aggregate query speed by up to 80%. ● Performed technical analytics and report writing for non-technical analysts, enabling them to better convey targeted marketing campaign results and improve year over year customer lift by as much as 50%.
