  Conducted research on Primary Hyperparathyroidism in pregnant women under Dr. Naykky Sing-Ospina, Assistant Professor in the Division of Endocrinology. Wrote the IRB, all IRB required modifications, and the protocol to be administered to UF Health data specialists. Assessed a chart review of 400 qualifying patients who met the study’s requirements. Discovered only 4 patients who met all requirements listed in our protocol. Presented results at the 2020 UF COM Research Poster Session. Created the foundation of future research with Florida One data focusing on the prevalence and incidence of thyroid hormone replacement, thyroid biopsy, and thyroid surgery.

  Led a team of 20 undergraduate interns and oversaw the training on patient portal sign-ups, patient shadowing, TeachBack, and bedside rounds to achieve the organization’s goal of the “perfect patient experience”. Implemented a restructure of the Department of Neuromedicine’s Pet Therapy Program and recruitment plan resulting in an increase in active involvement by 300% for pet therapy teams and neuromedicine patients.
