About
Hello! My name is Varshni Veeravignesh, and I am passionate about bridging the gap between research and implementation. I recently graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Psychology, and my education has equipped me with the skills to ask important questions and a solid foundation in using tools that will help me answer them. I have worked on various research projects in a range of fields, from examining the effectiveness of eating disorder treatment programs at the Johns Hopkins Hospital to protein engineering and gene editing experiments at JHU labs. Through these experiences in research environments, I developed a deep appreciation for a systematic approach to problem-solving and data-informed conclusions. However, I was curious about what it took to bring research and its insights out of the papers and into the real world, which eventually introduced me to marketing and communications. Through marketing coursework, interning at a full-service ad agency, and designing and leading the implementation of digital marketing campaigns, I learned how to tell a story about products of thoughtful and thorough consideration of unmet needs and convey why people should be listening. My diverse background positions me to be an effective contributor at any stage between research and implementation, with an understanding of what is necessary in the other stages for successful implementation. I aim to build a career where I can help introduce the wealth of knowledge from academia to the world outside it. I have been introducing skills like PYTHON, R, SQL, SPSS, and Excel into my toolkit to bring me closer to that goal, and I hope to continue to learn and grow from more exciting experiences in the future! Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, baking, watching the newest Netflix shows, petting any dog who will let me (my dog Leo is back home in India, unfortunately), and reading non-fiction. Please feel free to connect with me, I would love to get to know you!
