During a chat with a local business owner, I learned they were grappling with manual payroll tasks, relying on paper timecards, a calculator, and a pen to track hours. The next month, I arrived at their doorstep with a tablet interface where their employees could easily clock in and out, while their hours were calculated behind-the-scenes. The employer could access their Admin panel, review all recorded time, and easily forward it to their payroll company. This marked my first custom-tailored solution for an inefficient process that eventually led to the creation of Jidoka LLC — Japanese for "automation with human touch."
