Most design processes start with a brief and end with a visual. Mine starts earlier — with the question underneath the brief. I'm a brand strategist and designer based in Cairo, working across identity, art direction, and editorial. Over seven years, I've worked with brands in Cairo and Dubai on the kind of problems that don't have obvious answers: how do you make something feel like it was always meant to exist? How do you make an audience feel something before they've read a single word? My process is research-led and conceptually driven. I look for the tension in a brief — the cultural context, the emotional register, the contradiction — and I design from there. The result is work that means something, not just work that looks right. I believe design's highest function is translation. Not decoration. Not execution. Translation.
