About

Hi, I’m Mia Tesoriero, a third-year Architecture student at the University of Virginia, pursuing a minor in Entrepreneurship with a focus on Innovation in Business. I'm passionate about using design as a tool for social good, particularly at the intersection of architecture, sustainability, and education. My academic journey has sparked a growing interest in social entrepreneurship and educational innovation, especially after taking a policy-focused course with Professor Ben Castleman. These experiences have led me to explore how thoughtfully designed environments can foster equity, well-being, and community, especially in schools and public spaces. Outside the classroom, I currently serve as a Student Advisor for UVA’s Contemplative Commons, where I help develop programming, social media, and student engagement strategies to promote mindfulness and well-being on campus. I also recently interned with Southlake Style Magazine, supporting editorial and marketing efforts across digital platforms and producing multimedia content to connect with local audiences. My background includes customer-facing work at Champions Club, creative storytelling through video editing and design software, and involvement in clubs like UVA’s Triathlon and Club Running teams. I also engage with the NEWH Hospitality Industry Network in D.C. and was honored as a 2024 NEWH Metropolitan Scholar for my academic work in architecture. I'm always looking to connect with others who are passionate about design, innovation, and creating meaningful social impact. Let’s connect!
