  I continued working with Charlene Wu and Dr. Jim McNulty as a Directed Individual Study (DIS) student on their project, "Construal Level Theory and Psychological Distance in Romantic Relationships,"which focused on "psychological closeness"in newlywed couples. My role involved analyzing 10-minute video excerpts of couples discussing marital issues. I coded both verbal and nonverbal behaviors (such as mimicry, eye contact, pausing, and pronoun use) in 30-second intervals.
