Who we are
Pangea (pangea.app) runs a chat-based hiring service: you describe a role, our agent surfaces real candidates from Pangea's talent network with transparent pricing, and interviews get booked directly on your calendar. This page explains what data that involves. Questions or requests: adam@pangea.app.
What we collect
- Chat messages. What you type into the hiring chat — role descriptions, refinements, questions — is stored with your thread and processed by our AI model provider (Anthropic) to run the agent.
- Your email address, used for magic-link sign-in and for hiring-related email. We don't use passwords.
- Payment method, collected and stored by Stripe when you save one at hire time. Card numbers never touch our servers; we keep only Stripe's reference tokens and billing records for your contracts.
- Usage analytics via PostHog, including session replay — but only after you accept the analytics banner. Until then we keep anonymous, cookieless usage counts and never record your session. You can decline entirely.
- Company context you give us (e.g. your website, which we may fetch to understand the role better).
Talent data
Candidate profiles shown in the product come from Pangea's talent platform, where talent created accounts or onboarded directly with us. Before a hire, clients see only a first name, last initial, photo, skills, work history, and rates — never contact details. Talent can ask us to update or remove their profile at adam@pangea.app.
Who we share data with
Only service providers that make the product work: Anthropic (the chat agent's model), Stripe (payments), PostHog (analytics), Customer.io (email delivery), cal.com (interview scheduling and video calls), and Google Cloud (hosting). We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers.
Cookies
We set an essential session cookie when you sign in, and a localStorage flag remembering your analytics choice and theme. Analytics cookies exist only if you accept the banner; you can change your mind by clearing site data in your browser.
Retention and your rights
We keep hiring threads, bookings, and billing records for as long as your account is active or as required for accounting. Email us to access, export, correct, or delete your data — we'll respond within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your chats and profile; billing records we're legally required to keep are retained.
