  Volunteer Management, Support Aging Population, Supporting Volunteers (10/25 - 12/25) NYC Department for the Aging Researched organizations, companies, and nonprofits to determine which ones were suitable partners for NYC Aging. Drafted an internal paper/report summarizing findings and explaining why certain organizations aligned with the agency’s mission. Attained valuable training on how to use the volunteer management portal from a manager’s perspective. Conducted HIICAP (Health Insurance Information Counseling & Assistance Program) intake work. Through both research and HIICAP work, I gained insight into how NYC Aging evaluates partnerships, manages volunteers, and responds to the needs of older adults navigating complex systems in NYC.

  Volunteer, Community outreach, Event organization and Awareness (07/24 - 08/24) The Bronx Defenders Conducted weekly public outreach and phone banking. Invited the Bronx community to join our community dinner and spread awareness about the school to prison pipeline. Worked on gathering close to 500 signatures from our Bronx community through our outreach. Held a large seminar at the end of our five week outreach and invited the Bronx community to inform and illustrate data related to systematic oppression towards minority groups and attained various proposed solutions from our community.
