I hold a PhD in Rhetoric from Carnegie Mellon University, where I also earned an MA in Professional Writing. My career spans roles such as Communications and Congressional Affairs Specialist at KeyLogic, where I collaborate with the U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory. I have also worked as a Communications Consultant, providing strategic advice and content creation for various clients. My tenure as a Research Assistant at CMU's Scott Institute for Energy Innovation involved consulting for energy technology entrepreneurs and developing strategic communications.   I have taught two different courses at Carnegie Mellon University: Writing about Public Problems and Writing for Health Professions. Writing about Public Problems is primarily for first-year students. In this course, students learn the basics of professional writing and they learn how to write a proposal. We cover essentials of professional communication and rhetoric, including audience analysis, genre analysis, and determining the purpose of a piece of communication. Writing for Health Professions is for upperclassmen who are interested in health-related professions including medicine, research, and pharmacy. Students learn about professional communication and get a brief introduction to medical humanities.
